I can't believe there are just EIGHT weeks left until the New Year, and half of those are filled with celebrations, traveling and spending time with family. When it comes down to it, we have just a handful of weeks to close out the year on a good note.
But here's the good news. There are TONS of shoppers eager to buy unique handmade gifts for friends and family. So make sure you've got a plan to make the most out of these last few weeks. Here are some ideas for you to take on the end of the year and make as many sales as possible (without a huge headache):
Be sure to stock up on inventory and supplies!
You don't want to be running to the store last minute or wasting any unnecessary time standing in lines. Be sure to have all of your materials ready to go and a stack of packaging prepped so you can avoid the post office at. all. cost.
Speaking of, ship everything from your home!
DON'T go to the post office to ship your orders. Go online and schedule a pick up date and time with USPS (or your preferred mailing service) and have them come to you. You'll save yourself HOURS.
Plan out your promotions
Lay out a calendar of the most important dates that people will be shopping (Black Friday, Small Shop Saturday, Cyber Monday, etc.) Pick and choose the dates that you'd like to offer sales and be prepared to promote them on your social media pages, to your email list, or run an ad if you have the budget to do so.
Close off orders
For your sanity, choose a date that you will no longer accept holiday orders. Squeezing last minute orders in while trying to wrap gifts, cook the turkey and lay out holiday outfits will only make you despise Christmas. Be happy this holiday season. Draw a line and set up a cutoff date for orders.
Hope these tips help you! How are you preparing your shop for the holidays??
